"Music has always been a part of my daily operation.
Age 16 I was an intern at Vibes, back then a Amsterdam hotshop for skateboarding, graffiti, hiphop and fashion. No internet yet, I applied by letter, got invited by phone and had no idea what to expect. The shop was ran by Clyde Semmoh and after a tour of the place the internship started with my first class in beat juggling by DJ Clyde. 'When the East is in the house, Oh my God, DANGER'. I guess Blahzay Blahzay were my first steps in counting and phrasing.
20 years later.
We were producing pretty big art festivals, building exhibitions, programming stages and hosting some crazy parties at our studio. When I found out how this new Pioneer system worked, things fell into place. After trying a few formations it made more sense to connect my DJ activities to the Vinger.nl brand and continued playing under the Vinger&Friends Sound System flag.
Depending on the situation and availability we invite our DJ and MC friends to join the session.
Rooted in Hip Hop, Reggae and Dancehall we play a broad spectrum of genres like Funk Carioca, Jungle, Bobbeling, Grime, Ska, Jazz, Afrobeat, Soul, Gqom, R&B and Funk to lets say...Dirty Dutch and the music keeps on playing on and on.
