Als het zwart is heb je nog 5 minuten
This is an exhibition with artists who don’t talk so much, but do all the more, who don’t describe to the dot but share energy to the full, who don’t serve theses but bring an explosion, and it smells sometimes like chocolate cake, sometimes like waffles, at again other times like pumpkins or ganja.
Open Art Route
Starting 2012 to 2016 we developed this project from A to Z, mapping, connecting, mobilizing, showcasing and pushing our local art scene. We could write a book on this enterprise… or not… maybe just a quick tour of the project here.
Backstage Photo Exhibition
2015 marked Ilja Meefout's 10th anniversary as a photographer, we invited him to present his first solo exhibition: Backstage. The show was on view daily from June 20th until July 5th 2015 at Kraaiennest shoppingcentre, Amsterdam. The exhibition constisted of a couple of area’s. On the main wall framed prints of powerfull portraits of international Hip Hop icons. The installation made the images seem to float in space. On the sidewall a sequence of projected images of public spaces in Bijlmer, contrasting the status quo to that of a decade ago. On the left a postercollage of 30 fresh prints presenting local and international MC’s.
Ridders in de Bijlmer
Ridders in de Bijlmer (Knights in Bijlmer) is a 360-page hard cover book that offers a walk through the history of the South East area of Amsterdam, from an Urban Planner’s perspective. A richly illustrated story about the early reclamation of polders, bloody conflicts between knights, dukes and clergymen and the creation of a ‘New Town’: De Bijlmermeer.
Reconnect & Record
Reconnect & Record is a project of Breathing and Erasmushuis where two groups of musicians and vocalists from two countries, The Netherlands and Indonesia, form a super band for the sake of perpetuation. Under the leadership of composer, vocalist and guitarist Orville Breeveld (Netherlands) and composer and pianist Sri Hanuraga (Indonesia) the new super band rehearse and refine new written compositions. Vinger.nl went along to shoot photo and film during the process.
The Apollo Project
In the art world Artist in Residence programmes are a known path and infrastructure for artists and their practice. For a lot of creatives hailing from other artistical scenes and subcultures these programmes are unknown and thus not applyed. The Apollo Project is the first Rapper in Residence project where we explore the Artist in Residence route with artists and genre's that are not regular to the concept.
Opening Hoekenrode
For the festive opening of the renewed hoekenrode square, the city of Amsterdam and production house Meneer de Leeuw commissioned Vinger.nl to take care of the event & campaign design. WE createD a visual identity, PRODUCED all means of communication and PRESENTED a life-size outdoor photo exhibition.
FATFORM: Present Forever
From 2010 trough 2012 Vinger.nl and artist label Fffuck staged FATFORM. An artist-run initiative and flexible platform where (Art) objects, performances, cultures, genres, feelings and opinions could circulate in all their radicality. Due to experimental and international cross programming all possible forms of expression come together in a parking garage in De Bijlmermeer (Amsterdam South East). With this clash of worlds we wanted to encourage makers and audiences from very diverse fields and backgrounds to meet and exchange.
M.O. & Brakko: Koester
Koester is a classic Bijlmer album for us in many ways. It was M.O. & Brakko's anticipated album after them winning the GPNL music competition a year earlier. It was fully produced by RavenBros., who we know since highschool. It was a big release for our partner SamenSterk Records. And it was a new step in our creative process.
